Celtic defender Kris Ajer could be back in action much sooner than expected after his head injury during the game against Dundee over the weekend.

The Norwegian defender was forced off during the 1-0 victory amid fears of a concussion.

It had been expected that as a result, the player would miss out on the latest round of international fixtures.

However, according to the Daily Record, the player is now set to be assessed by Norway’s medical team to decide whether or not he can feature during this next international break.

Ajer’s swift return could be both good and bads news for Celtic. While the club will be delighted the head injury was nothing too serious, you can imagine that Neil Lennon would much prefer to see the player sit out and recover ahead of the upcoming Glasgow Derby.

The Norwegian has been a mainstay for Celtic this season and losing him to injury once again would come as a huge blow to the club.
