Great Britain win gold in men's 4x100m relay final as Usain Bolt fails to finish race

​Usain Bolt failed to finish his final race at a major championships after pulling up with an apparent hamstring injury as Great Britain stormed to an historic gold medal in the men's 4x100m relay final on Saturday.

Bolt had been aiming to win gold with his Jamaica teammates Omar McLeod, Julian Forte and Yohan Blake in the relay after he finished third in the individual 100m final behind winner Justin Gatlin and silver medallist Christian Coleman last weekend.

But his race came to an end in the last 60m at the London Stadium after he sustained an injury, which left him requiring medical attention on the track.

In contrast, the British team of Chijindu Ujah, Adam Gemili, Daniel Talbot and Nethaneel Mitchell-Blake had a night to remember after the quartet finished first with a time of 37. seconds.

The gold medal was historic - with Great Britain never having finished first in the men's 4x100m final before. 

The race followed the success of the British women's team, who won silver in their 4x100m relay final directly before the men's final.
