Brendan Rodgers has been given a big boost with the news that midfielder Lewis Morgan is close to returning to the Celtic fold.

CeltsAreHere have reported that the young Scot is seeking for his first appearance of the season after recovering from an injury that required minor surgery.

Morgan got some minutes in pre-season, where he scored a fantastic goal against Shamrock Rovers before injury struck and ruled him out of Celtic’s opening fixtures.

But he is now eyeing a return for the Bhoys against former club St Mirren, when the two sides clash in Paisley on Friday.

Morgan has expressed his hunger to get back into the Celtic side, and has set his sights on a return in the near future.

Morgan said:

“I know I need to force my way back into the manager’s plans, and that is something I’m looking forward to doing. I feel fit now that I’m back so hopefully by the time the St Mirren game comes along I can play a part.”
