Barcelona are looking to steal the march on Chelsea and Manchester City with a bid to sign Frankfurt’s Luka Jovic.

The Guardian reports that Barcelona watched the player closely during Frankfurt’s Europa League clash with Inter, in which Jovic put in an impressive display, rounded off with an equally skilful finish.

Jovic has been one of the stories of the campaign so far in Germany, enjoying a breakthrough season that has alerted some of Europe’s elite.

The Serbian has found the back of the net 15 times in 24 Bundesliga games already and now has several teams chasing his signature.

Premier League duo Manchester City and Chelsea have been heavily linked with a move for the striker, but Barcelona could now step up their interest with a £43 million bid.

The La Liga giants are in the process of revamping their and have already brought in Jean Clair Todibo and Frenkie De Jong from Ajax.
