Paul Scholes has bizarrely hit out at Arsenal interim head coach Freddie Ljungberg for not wearing a suit on the touchline against Norwich.

Swede Ljungberg was taking charge of the Gunners for the first time after he was appointed to temporarily replace Unai Emery - after the Spaniard was sacked on Friday.

He didn't managed to prevent Arsenal from slipping to an eighth match without a win as they were forced to come from behind twice to draw 2-2 with the Canaries on Sunday.

But it wasn't the performance that Manchester United legend was worried about - rather his apparel.

Ljungberg arrived at Carrow Road sporting a natty grey jumper and shirt combination, before sticking on a club jacket to keep him warm during the match.

But that didn't impress Scholes - who thinks that a suit would have been more befitting of the role he has undertaken.

"You would think he'd be out in a suit to show a bit of proudness that he took the job," Scholes said on PLP.

"To me that's a great start - shirt and tie to show some discipline.

"I don't think he'll be the right man."

Meanwhile over on Sky Sports, Jamie Carragher was more fixated on the work Ljungberg needs to do to shore up the Gunners' lax defence.

"It shows it is not just a question of changing the manager," Carragher said. "The problems will still take a fix when the new manager comes in.

"I was a bit surprised by his selection. He is going back to players who won't change or get any better, David Luiz and Shkodran Mustafi, Granit Xhaka in midfield.

"Going forward, they need to find out about the players in the squad.

"Calum Chambers is not a full-back. He struggles there every time I see him play.

"Put him centre-back because you know Luiz and Mustafi aren't the answer. Have a look at him there. Get Bellerin back in at right-back.

"You've got Pepe, when you have spent that money on someone.

"I am not advocating Edu to tell Ljungberg who to pick but you have got to see these players play."
