An entire Caribbean island is available to rent via the Airbnb website, and while it's not cheap at £456 a night, you certainly don't have to be a millionaire to afford it.

The place in question is called Bird Island, and is located just off the coast of Belize.

It's a self-catering stay – you'll have the entire island to yourself – and offers activities such as sunbathing, swimming and kayaking (as well as, of course, enjoying cocktails in your hammock).

The island has a building with a master bedroom and two separate cabanas, meaning up to six people can stay at a time.

We especially loved the view from the top deck where we could watch barracuda or giant rays swim by since the water was so clear."
