Firefighters rescue 5-year-old trapped in abandoned well in northern China
Firefighters rescued a 5-year-old boy trapped in an abandoned well in northern China. The heroic video, filmed in the city of Haicheng in Liaoning Province on April 6, shows a 5-year-old boy trapped in a 30-centimetre-wide well, 5 metres under the ground. Firefighters used an excavator to dig a hole next to the well and then tore down the side of the well to take the boy out of it. After around four hours, the boy was rescued successfully and he was not injured seriously. The boy reportedly fell into the abandoned well accidentally when he was playing. The video was provided by local media with permission.
