Lisa Kudrow asserts that Friends had 'no business' writing about people of colour

Lisa Kudrow said in a new interview that Friends writers struggled to represent diverse characters. Speaking to The Daily Beast for an interview released on Wednesday, the Friends writer spoke out on why the show depicted reportedly problematic representations of people of colour. She said the show’s creators - David Crane and Marta Kauffman - had “no business” telling stories about people of colour given their own backgrounds. “Well, I feel like it was a show created by two people who went to Brandeis and wrote about their lives after college,” Lisa summarised of Friends.
