Power of suggestion "hypnotizes" sleepy puppy

Raven is a 12 week old Great Dane puppy. She is growing rapidly and eating an incredible amount of food. She runs everywhere at full speed and plays with an energy that could power a small city. But when she stops, she suddenly realizes that she is tired from all the exertion and she needs a rest. And, like all puppies, she fights the urge to close her eyes and drift off. Raven has just finished ripping apart a stuffed toy and terrorizing the other family dog. She's run around the back yard and sniffed all the trees twice. She has had several bouts of zoomies and she has eaten a full bowl of food in under 30 seconds. Her owner, Dave has brought her up on the couch where she likes to nap and he would like her to have a little down time. Raven has her eye on the other dog and might be trying to decide if it's time to play some more. But Dave makes a suggestion that she is sleepy and says it a few times, as convincingly as possible. Raven abruptly closes her eyes and suddenly drops on the couch beside him for a snuggle and a snooze. In seconds, Raven is out for the count and Dave tucks her in with one of her favorite blankets for what will be a very deep sleep. Great Danes are one of the most loyal and gentle breeds. They make ideal family pets, if you can get through the energetic puppy stage. They are adorably clumsy and very powerful as they grow, making them slightly destructive and a challenge to manage. But their loving personalities and humorous character makes them well worth the trouble. With many large dog breeds, one of the challenges is that they are prone to stomach torsions. They eat quickly and consume large amounts of food. If they run and jump soon after a meal, the weight of their stomach can make it swing and flip over, constricting the blood flow in the intestines and digestive tract. This will cause a life threatening medical emergency that can kill a dog in a short time. Raven is encouraged to lie still or even nap for this, and for other reasons, after she eats. Spacing out food in smaller meals throughout the day can also help reduce the risk of torsion. Raven will grow quickly and will reach a weight of more than 70kg (150lbs). Her paws are already enormous and she will grow to fit them in no time. Anyone who has ever had a Great Dane describes there unconditional love as unparalleled. They are a truly majestic breed.
