Thousands march from BBC HQ to Downing Street to oppose NHS vaccine mandate
Thousands joined a march from the BBC's London HQ to Downing Street on Saturday 22 January to oppose mandatory vaccination of public health workers in the UK. Workers in the National Health Service (NHS) are required to be vaccinated by April or they could be fired. The need for a delay between jabs mean the process of sacking what could be more than 70,000 as-yet unvaccinated staff could begin on 3 February. The crowd protesting included NHS staff, people concerned about civil liberties, and many so-called anti-vaxxers. Members of the crowd hurled medical scrubs at police guarding Downing Street, where the Prime Minister has his official residence.
