Heavy rain brings flooding to western Venezuela

Floods blocked roads and submerged homes in western Venezuela after continuous downpours left thousands of households destitute. The video shows the muddy and raging canal that was swollen in Santa Rosalia municipality on Sunday afternoon (November 22). According to local media, the deluge carried four cars away and cut access to main roads that were being used to transfer food and medical supplies. Local media also reported five deaths across the region. Disaster response teams have been deployed in most of the western states including Lara, Zulia, and Tachira. The Venezuelan state government has reported damage of around 20 million USD caused by the floods.
