Vehicles on fire as riots erupt in Philadelphia after shooting of Walter Wallace

Riots erupted in Philadelphia on Monday night (October 26) after the police shot dead a Black man who they say was holding a knife. Footage shows vehicles engulfed in flames and clashes with police amid anger over the death of Walter Wallace on Locust Street. Video of the shooting emerged on social media and showed an officer emptying several rounds into the 27-year-old man, who appeared to be charging towards police officers. He then collapsed on the ground before being transported to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, where he died shortly after. Protests fuelled by the Black Lives Matter (BLM) movement erupted in the neighbourhood in Pennsylvania shortly after the shooting.
