Orcas bob up and down in Norwegian waters

A group of Orcas created a very interesting spectacle as they appeared to be bobbing up and down, in and out of the water near Skjervøy, Norway on January 24. The whales are actually spyhopping, which is what whales do when they want to get a better idea of their surroundings above the water, according to National Geographic. Bart van Meele was on a boat nearby and said it felt like the whales had “come to say goodbye” as they continued to spyhop while the boat sailed by. Credit: Bart van Meele via Storyful
