Call Me By Your Name may have narrowly missed out on the Best Picture Oscar at the Oscars, but it’s still one of the biggest films of 2018.

(Plus, it did win the award for Best Adapted Screenplay, so the night wasn’t a total bust.)

On a personal level, we love Timothée Chalamet and Armie Hammer, so we are over the moon to hear that there’s going to be a sequel!

Back in March, director Luca Guadagnino revealed the exciting news that he’s working on a second CMBYN film, and the best bit? Timothee and Armie WILL be back as Oliver and Elio.

“I’m already conceiving the story with [author] André Aciman,’ Luca told USA Today, before adding that there will be a jump in time from the 1983-based original. “It’s gonna happen five or six years afterwards, so almost in the 1990s.

“It’s gonna be a new movie, a different tone. You’re gonna see a lot of the East Coast of America… They’re gonna go around the world,” he said.

And now Armie has given us an update on the sequel. But don't get your hopes up - there's not much to go on...

"It will happen because there are already people working on it and trying to make it happen," he told Variety.

"How much do I know and how much could I tell you are two very different things. I know a lot, but I can't tell you anything."

Thanks a bunch, ARMIE!?

So what will the sequel be called? Well, Twitter has some ideas...

Great suggestions, right?

Before you get yourself all riled up, it’s not looking like the film will be with us any time soon.

“We have to get there with the script, but we will.”

Jeez, Luca. Give us a ball park, will you? 2019? 2020? 2021? Are we getting any warmer?

Anyway, here's the trailer for the first one to keep you entertained for now.
