If there's one thing that features in The Big Bang Theory more than science, it's food. So that's why we're thrilled Kaley Cuoco has revealed exactly what happens during those famous dinner scenes.

Ahead of the show's actual ending, Kaley has shared a behind-the-scenes look at how much she enjoys filming the gang's mealtimes – even if she is picking at the same plate of food all day.

"Notice our crew cleaning up the props and throwing things away," Kaley wrote on Instagram alongside a video of her tucking into nachos. "The cast is moving on with their day.

"The scene is done. I'm wrapped. Time to go home."Eating until the last possible moment? Kaley is a girl after our own hearts.

Kaley also responded to claims the show was wasteful by revealing that any leftover food that isn't "eaten, touched and worked with all day" is given away at the end of shooting.

While Kaley clearly enjoys filming foodie scenes, there is one thing about Big Bang Theory filming that the actress won't miss – the broken lift in Penny's apartment building.

"The stairs have gotten more and more exhausting as our seasons have gone on. Seasons 1 and 2, we were running up there," she explained recently.

"Now, it's season 12, we're all a bit older, and it's a little more difficult getting up those steps. So I would like that elevator to work."
