Introducing GAFF Shop, a new online market place connecting sellers of beautiful secondhand homewares and furniture with like-minded buyers.

The genius idea, brought to life by the two creatives behind GAFF Interiors, Caroline Foran and Jo Linehan, is the ideal place for a spot of guilt-free interiors shopping.

Whether you’re looking to shop more sustainably, searching for something truly unique or fancy saving a few bob while updating your home, this specially curated space is sure to help you along the way.

Unlike similar websites, the GAFF Shop team approves every item that makes it to the shopfront, ensuring what you’re getting as a potential buyer is not only top quality but aesthetically pleasing too.

‘We saw a gap in the market for a place to buy and sell pre-loved interiors that would all be of a standard,’ Jo tells EVOKE of GAFF’s newest venture. ‘We approve everything on site, so you won’t waste time trawling looking for a beautiful new piece.’

‘The re-sale economy is working brilliantly for clothing with the like of Siopa Eile and Vestaire Collective going from strength to strength – so why not do the same for interiors here in Ireland?’

Jo says that as a brand, GAFF has always been acutely aware of the environmental impact of its actions and so it has welcomed the opportunity to embrace sustainability in its newest business efforts.

‘By connecting pre-loved, high quality products with interested parties, we are not only helping to circulate items and extend their lifespan, we are also helping to shift the consumer conscience away from the “buying new is best” mindset and towards an appealing second-hand shopping and buying experience,’ she explains.

The best part? The online store takes no commission on sales, it simply facilitates sellers with potential buyers of pre-approved items on an easy-to-use platform, as part of the GAFF Interiors website.

‘We have developed a shopfront which enables buyers to contact sellers and arrange payment that suits both parties, as well as collection or delivery of said item,’ Jo explains.

‘If you’re a buyer, simply browse the homepage and if you find an item you need to have now, click through to contact the seller. Before making contact you will know everything you need to know about the item: its price, its condition, where the seller is located and exactly what you’re about to buy, complete with clear imagery that promises no trickery or filters to ensure transparency.’

Jo’s top tips for any budding sellers keen to get the GAFF seal of approval first hand?

‘Make sure your pics are Instagram-worthy to ensure potential buyers can see your items’ potential. A dark room with a clothes horse visible in the background of your shot just won’t cut it.’

‘The more information you give about a piece, the better,’ she advises. ‘Whether your chair is the comfiest you’ve ever sat in or your bedside locker has a hidden drawer, the more detailed a description you give the more likely you are to engage an interested shopper.’

GAFF Shop goes live tomorrow 1 July – happy shopping!
