All rights reserved The 20 worst wedding guest mistakes have been revealed If you thought that attending a wedding was as easy as throwing on a pretty dress and just turning up, then you'd be wrong. Oh so very wrong.

According to a new study by Jacamo as reported on the Daily Mail, there are loads of ways you can ruin a wedding - and wearing the wrong kind of outfit features rather heavily.

Seven out of the 20 common wedding faux pas are related to the outfit wedding guests choose to wear - from wearing all white or all black, to showing too much skin, turning up in jeans (really, people?!) and wearing your sunglasses in the church.

© Provided by National magazine company ltd (Hearst UK) It also might be an idea to check with the bride first about what the bridesmaids are wearing before you choose an outfit, as looking like you're one of the bridal party is the seventh biggest balls-up according to Jacamo's list.

While what you wear might have a negative effect on other peoples' days, (aside from showing up in a wedding dress or a bikini, we believe you should be able to wear what you want), it is the best man that has the biggest opportunity for failure as the list marks a 'Bad taste best man's speech' as its number one wedding faux pas.

See the full list below and maybe make a mental note not to be 'that guy' next time you attend a wedding...
