A cottage in Ballsbridge sparked a bidding frenzy despite the fact it is little more than four walls.

The ultimate fixer upper came on the market in September with the agents suggesting it was perfect for potential owners to put “one’s personal stamp” on it.

Agents McNally Handy were asking for €350,000 for what was really little more than a shell of a building.

But the 500sq ft property does have one major thing going for it – it is in Dublin 4.

A two-bed in turnkey condition in the area costs an eye watering €650,000.

The Irish Times reports there were ten bidders trying to get their hands on Number 12 Herbert Cottages.
