MTK Global chief executive officer Sandra Vaughan has left her role at the head of the international boxing promotion firm.

Vaughan will replaced as MTK Global CEO by its current president, Bob Yalen, in what’s being described as a ‘transitional phase’ for the company.

The news comes just a day after the Dubai-based firm saw their previous headquarters in Marbella, which had been originally co-founded by Daniel Kinahan, had been shut down.

Kinahan has been named as a senior figure within organised crime by the High Court, but he is no longer formally involved in the company that he help set up.

Despite the lack of a professional relationship, Vaughan had stated last month that Kinahan regularly recommends boxers to sign up with MTK.

KHK Sports started a partnership in MTK in May, and the Bahraini state-backed company had Kinahan on their books as a ‘special advisor’.

When Kinahan’s role in negotiating a fight between Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury was widely condemned earlier this month, KHK severed their ties with the Dubliner.

‘I feel both humbled and incredibly motivated by this opportunity’, Yalen said of his move to CEO having been president of MTK since October 2018.

‘It has been an honour to be a part of the growth of MTK since 2018 and I now look forward to driving the business to even greater heights as CEO. Sandra Vaughan has done a phenomenal job over the past three years and I now intend to build on her successes.’

The outgoing Vaughan added: ‘We are going through a transitional phase in the business and I feel fortunate to have someone of Bob’s experience and expertise to assume the CEO role and allow me to focus my energies in other areas. I wish him all the best in this new chapter for MTK.’
