Some dry, sunny weather in store © Provided by Irish Independent Some dry, sunny weather in store After a bitterly cold couple of weeks, milder temperatures are on the cards across Ireland this weekend.

Temperatures are expected to reach highs of 13 degrees and it is to remain mostly dry for Saturday and Sunday.

Met √Čireann forecaster Liz Walsh said we can expect a "splash of rain, but nothing too significant".

"There's a good deal of bright weather ahead and it is extremely mild for this time of year," she said.

Friday night will see the worst of the weekend weather, with rain in the south and west spreading eastwards overnight.

Some of these light showers will turn into heavier bursts, but these will clear early tomorrow morning.

And while Saturday will see some nice spells of sunshine making an appearance, Sunday will be a cloudier and murkier affair.

To sum up, anyone making outdoor plans for the weekend, the weather won't be getting in the way!
