He told the Sunday Mirror, ‘I’ve hardly slept thinking about what could have happened to her.

‘I’ve walked through those back streets and there’s a very high chance she was abducted. There is a known organ trafficking trade from that country on the black market.

‘Someone could be holding her in a cage in that 35 degree heat. This is what’s going through my head.’

Police in the area are investigating her disappearance however officers have clashed with members of Ms Skromane’s family over how the probe in being handled, with Mr Jordan being ordered to return home last week following a row.

Despite being certain she is still alive, he added, ‘I’m 100 pc feeling responsible because if I’d been there none of this would have happened.

Mr Jordan has set up a GoFundMe account in his wife’s honour in order to help with the costs of flying over and back to India, and to assist in the search effort.
