Judge Martin Nolan at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court told Conor O’Hora his actions would mean that the horrific images he used in his crimes would be “out there forever”.

He described the crimes as “insidious” and added that if O’Hora had thought about the effect on the victim beforehand the outcome would have been different.

O'Hora, 41, from Heather Walk, Portmarnock in Dublin, had pleaded guilty to a charge of harassment of Ms Ní Bheoláin and to three counts of possession of child pornography.

Detective Garda Padraic Hanley of the Garda National Bureau of Crime Investigation explained at yesterday’s hearing that O'Hora used images of Ms Ní Bheoláin from magazines and newspapers in his evil crime.

He circulated doctored images of the news anchor with her head superimposed on participants in pornographic images.

He also circulated doctored images of three children - placing their heads on images of child sexual abuse.

He then engaged in on line chatter with another man and discussed rape and torture of the children.

Judge Martin Nolan previously blasted the accused and said he was: "in no doubt the accused knew the distress this would cause".
