Laura O’Neill from Swords died on Saturday after the short illness.

A massive fundraising effort had been launched to help the 22-year-old when she was first diagnosed last Christmas.

A fundraising drive managed to to raise over €29,000 for treatment after she was initially diagnosed.

Her GoFundMe Page explains after Christmas last year she was diagnosed with a rare stage 4 cancer called synovial sarcoma.

Laura had been attending the Royal Marsden Hospital in London after she had reached the end of treatment offered in Ireland.
