If you're going to be covered in ketchup for your first birthday photos, it had better be fancy ketchup.

One Houston baby threw out the traditional smash cake idea and went for smashing into a Whataburger meal, and the adorable photo shoot is now going viral.

The photos, posted on Facebook by Houston's Sweet Hazel Photography, feature baby Miguel Macias III, who lives in Aldine and turns 1 in November.

His mom, Josephine Macias, said it's only fitting that good Texas parents would pay tribute to one of the state's most beloved institutions in their family photos.

"He always tried to take our Whataburger," Macias said.

"He always has loved to eat so one day I let him have some french fries and it was all over."

Miguel Macias Jr., Josephine's husband, had the idea to let the young fast food lover tear into a burger, chicken strips and fries during his photo shoot.

Photographer Kati Johnson said she started her business after gradating from San Jacinto College with photography degree in 2013.

She said she's done regular cake smash sessions and has even had clients hop on the adult cake smash trend that has been going around on social media.

But, nothing compares to Whataburger. "This has been the best so far," Johnson said.
