STERLING, Va. -- This old Ford is a tribute to America's veterans.

Nick Arrington, 63, an auctioneer living in Virginia, has turned his 1930 Ford Model A Phaeton into a car that celebrates how the U.S. rallied to win World War II.

Inspired by the 75th anniversary of the end of VJ Day and the end of hostilities, Arrington took the Model A Phaeton he had owned for nearly five years and decorated it cartoons, rhymes, and propaganda . Some of the art, for instance, were the drawings on the noses of U.S. bombers.

Having completed the car just seven weeks ago, Arrington is showing it off this summer. He is taking it to car shows and parades. He's using it to talk about his father, who served aboard the cruiser Denver during the war, and his uncle, an Army veteran.

"I wanted a car that looked like a tribute car done by the neighborhood for these two young guys to come back home safe and sound," Arrington says us at a recent car show here.
