Photos: Wildlife at night

Photos Logo Photos | Slide 1 of 44: ZAMBIA - SEPTEMBER 28: A lion cub is pictured in front of the blood moon on September 28, 2015 in South Luangwa National Park, Zambia.

A cute lion cub stares at a camera against the backdrop of a blood moon which is glowing in the night sky. This incredible image was shot by UK photographer William Burrard-Lucas in South Luangwa National Park, Zambia. The wildlife snapper used a BeetleCam to capture the picture of the curious feline as it moved in front of the rare astronomical event. A blood moon occurs when a full moon is at its closest to the Earth, resulting in it appearing bigger and brighter - this 'supermoon' phenomena then coincides with a full lunar eclipse where the Earth, the moon and the sun are aligned.
