Dozens arrested during climate demonstration in New York City

At least 30 protesters arrested after blocking traffic outside of City Hall today (April 17). Activists from the Extinction Rebellion's New York chapter took over streets near City Hall. Some activists climbed up on light poles, dropping banners from above during the climate protest. An NYPD spokesman said approximately 50 people were at the protest trying to block traffic. The rally is happening along with others in western cities worldwide demanding action on climate change.
