The new Honda CBR650F might not look any different on the surface, but at its heart is a revised version of the 649cc inline four engine. Apart from being BSIV compliant, the power output has been increased by 4bhp. It now develops 90bhp, while peak torque figure stands at 64Nm. The revisions to the engine include shorter air intake funnels, and a dual-pass internal structure in the muffler to reduce back pressure. Even the gear ratios have been revised to improve acceleration. The CBR650F rides on updated 41mm Showa front forks. Even the Nissin brake callipers have been revised to improve stopping power.

Cosmetically, the CBR650F benefits from LED headlamps. It also gets two new paint schemes – matte black and red. Honda Wing World dealerships have started accepting bookings for the CBR650F for a token amount of Rs 25,000. The motorcycle already commands a waiting period of two months in certain cities. Its closest rivals are the Benelli TNT 600GT and the Kawasaki Z900. But for similar money, you can also get the Ducati Scrambler Icon and the Triumph Street Twin.
