Hyundai will debut the Kona SUV for India at the Auto Expo. It will not be a launch but a showcase and the much hyped Kona will also be coming to India in its EV avatar most probably. With EVs being the hottest topic currently, all manufacturers would like to jump in the fray. The Kona as you know is Hyundai's newest and most aggressively designed crossover which sits below the Tucson and above the Creta.

Though its slightly smaller than the Creta, it is a more youthful crossover with a ton of never before seen features on a Hyundai like heads-up display. It is a high-end crossover. The electric Kona will have styling changes and might sport the front grille like the Ioniq and will have more fuel efficiency focused wheels also. The Kona EV will also have a 50-kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery. Hyundai will introduce this in 2019 most likely to jump before rival Maruti in the EV space. Again its not confirmed but the Auto Expo response to the car will decide that. Hyundai might also showcase the standard Kona with turbo petrols along with manual and dual clutch automatic.
