Suzuki admitted to being inconsistent with their product strategy in the past few years. However, the company now has a new roadmap in place to help it achieve its annual sales of 10 lakh units by 2020. The target seems quite ambitious, considering that Suzuki sold just over 3.5 lakh two-wheelers last year. This year, the company is projecting a 40 per cent increase in sales by putting 5 lakh new two-wheelers on Indian roads, while the next year’s target is 7 lakh units. With this, Suzuki is looking at increasing its market share from 2.5 per cent to 10 per cent.

The company will be investing Rs 1,000 crores towards capacity expansion and development of new products. The company will also revamp its dealership network to offer customers a new interface. The current line-up consists of the Access, Gixxer and the Hayate EP, apart from a few superbikes.
