This is the new gen Ertiga that has been revealed and it is coming to India soon. The MPV segment has not taken off and only the Innova does huge numbers but the Ertiga has done decently being a budget MPV plus the Maruti badge has helped but this new one is much better and more luxurious. First of all the dimensions. Just like the new Swift and Baleno the Ertiga is based on the new Heartect platform and length of 4,395 mm, the width of 1,753 mm, the height of 1,690 mm. It grown and is much better looking now with a bigger front especially with its chrome rich grille. There are projector headlamps with LED DRLs, new 15 inch alloys and LED tail-lamps. It simply looks much bigger and much more premium.

Inside like the Dzire and Swift you get a flat-bottomed steering wheel and a continuous running air vent all across. It also gets the 7 inch infotainment system with all usual functions like rear view camera and all. Being an MPV there is more space now and the third row is more comfy with more practicality and also a spacious second row. The India version will be more luxurious with more features added. For India we expect the same engines as the Swift but maybe also the new diesel that Maruti is working on.

Clearly the new Ertiga has moved up and is aiming to fill in the gap vacated by the Innova Crysta which is now more premium and out of reach for many which is where this will come in. Expect a September/october launch.
