Actor Imran Khan's estranged wife Avantika Malik on Tuesday took to Instagram and shared a video of Miley Cyrus dancing to one of her songs, with a caption that reads, "divorce was the best thing for her". Avantika not only shared the video, but also wrote, "Not only her... #justsaying." Avantika and Imran were childhood sweethearts, and after dating for eight years, the two of them tied the knot in 2011. Their daughter Imara was born in 2014. However, they reportedly parted ways in 2019 and have been living separately since then.

After Avantika posted the video on Instagram stories, netizens began speculating whether her and Imran's divorce has been finalised.

Many Reddit users shared their thoughts on Avantika's story. One wrote, "It's better to part ways than be bitter the whole life." Another wrote, "TBH it did wonders for her she owns one of the most popular high end restaurant in South Bombay MIZU which is a famous celeb outing spot too." Some Reddit users also wrote how it is not in good taste to indirectly bash former spouses and partners, especially since Imran Khan has maintained a stoic silence about their separation

According to an India Today report, Avantika has moved on. “Avantika is really happy and they enjoy each others company. She’s the sort who doesn’t believe in living in the past and loves to live in the moment. Avantika and Sahib met through common friends and are taking it easy. They are not in a rush to put any label on their friendship,” the report read.

A few months ago, Avantika had posted pictures with Sahib Singh Lamba, fuelling relationship rumours. Imran, too, sparked dating rumours after being spotted with actor Lekha Washington recently. Imran and Lekha had made headlines in 2021 for their alleged relationship. Lekha had shared a message on marriage and divorce on her Instagram handle and had said, “Marriage is hard. Divorce is hard. Choose your hard.”
