Abhishek Bachchan and Ajay Devgn-starrer Yuva completed 16 years of release on Friday (May 22). Directed by Mani Ratnam, Yuva is among one of the best works of Junior Bachchan. Remembering shooting the climax scene in Kolkata, Abhishek shared a photo of himself, Ajay Devgn and Mani Ratnam from the sets.

Sharing the photo, Abhishek also talked about the destruction caused by the cyclone Amphan in Kolkata, where Yuva was based in. He wrote, "Wow! 16yrs already. This photo was taken on the sets of #Yuva in Kolkata. We were about to begin shooting the climax of the film. A memorable shoot. Based in Kolkata. It's heartbreaking to see the visuals coming out of Kolkata in the wake of the destruction left behind by #cycloneAmphan #16yrsofYuva @ajaydevgn #ManiRatnam #Kolkata #flashbackfriday (sic)."

Apart from Abhishek Bachchan and Ajay Devgn, Yuva also starred Rani Mukerji, Vivek Oberoi, Kareena Kapoor, Esha Deol, Om Puri and Sonu Sood, among others. In the film, while Ajay Devgn played the role of a student leader who wants to remove corruption in politics, Abhishek played a goon working for a politician played by the late actor, Om Puri.

Released in 2004, Yuva was praised by the audience and film critics alike. It is based on student politics in Kolkata. Apart from Hindi, the film was simultaneously shot in Tamil as Aayutha Ezhuthu.

Coming back to Abhishek Bachchan, the actor was shooting for his upcoming film Bob Biswas in Kolkata before the film production was shut because of the ongoing lockdown imposed to prevent the further spread of the novel coronavirus.
