Harold Ramis, the star of Ghostbusters and director of Groundhog Day, has passed away

Actor and director Harold Ramis, who was best known for his role in Ghostbusters, has died aged 69.He died of autoimmune inflammatory vasculitis, a disease that involves swelling of the blood vessels, his wife told the Chicago Tribune. As well as his acting roles, he was also a talented writer and director, with credits which included Caddyshack, Analyze This, Animal House, National Lampoon’s Vacation and Stripes.The actor, who was born in Chicago, also directed the 90s cult movie Groundhog Day, which starred his friend and fellow Ghostbusters actor Bill Murray.Harold's health began declining in May 2010 when complications of the autoimmune disease arose from an infection. The condition was so bad that he had to learn how to walk again, a family spokesperson revealed.The actor is survived by his wife Erica Mann and his two sons Julian and Daniel.Here, we celebrate the actor's work in pictures...
