Baahubali prequel on the cards. Who is going to direct it?

© Spice Director SS Rajamouli's brainchild Baahubali made Indian cinema proud, thanks to its intriguing screenplay and innovative promotions. The two-part Baahubali series starred Prabhas in the eponymous role and Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty and Ramya Krishnan as other key characters.

Now, there's some good news for all Baahubali lovers.

Director Deva Katta, who had directed Prasthanam in Telugu, will join hands with SS Rajamouli to direct the Baahubali series. Reportedly, Deva Katta will also be co-producing this venture with Netflix.

© Filmysouth The Baahubali prequel will be shot as an original series with more emphasis on the background of the Mahishmathi kingdom and what transpired before the hierarchy was messed up.

The first season is titled The Rise of Sivagami.

© Spice The pre-production of the same is currently underway and the makers are in talks with popular artists from Telugu and Tamil film industries to play key roles in the series.
