In relation to the case, three top actresses from south cinema were questioned for nearly six hours.

It is said that the US police officials are now planning to question Telugu film stars travelling to the country. Recently, actress Mehreen Pirzada had travelled to the US for the shooting of her Telugu film Pantham.

After wrapping up the shoot, she was travelling from Vancouver to meet her family. At the airport, she was questioned by the officials of US Department of Homeland & Immigration when they came to know that she was an actress.

Speaking to a daily, she said, "I am shocked. It was so embarrassing. I was constantly travelling and wasn't aware of the emergence of news regarding such illegitimate activities. When I revealed that I was a Telugu actress, I was questioned for 30 minutes."

She was also questioned if she is aware of the prostitution racket. "The immigration officials politely told me that there was a serious racket that they were investigating and that they were questioning everybody from the Telugu film industry travelling to the US. Although they apologised for the inconvenience, they said they would continue to question people until all those involved in the racket were taken to task," she revealed.

Mehreen further added that the action of few is ruining the reputation of the industry. "Their impression of Telugu actors is really embarrassing. As an artiste, I felt it was a very awkward situation," she concluded.
