Renu, who has avoided the limelight, has finally opened about her previous marriage in an interview. She said that the reason she wanted to break her silence is to give courage to all the women out there, who are going through similar problems in their lives.

During the course of the interview, Renu revealed that it was Pawan Kalyan who insisted on a divorce in spite of her initial protests.

She also questioned the female fans of Pawan Kalyan, who abused her on social media: "I get hate messages from many female fans of Pawan garu. I want to ask them only one question. How would you feel if Pawan was your husband and after 11 years of marriage, he becomes a father to another daughter without telling you?"

The actress said that she had asked Pawan Kalyan to give a statement about their divorce to end the hate she was receiving from his fans, but it was in vain. She said,"During our divorce, I requested Kalyan garu to issue a public statement to clarify it, but he didn't oblige my request."

While Pawan Kalyan has moved on with an untainted image, Renu Desai is still at the receiving end of misogynistic trolls and online abuse. Unfazed, she is now set to start afresh and gearing up for her wedding with the new love of her life.

Renu and Pawan Kalyan entered wedlock in 2009 and the couple parted ways in 2012. They have two kids - son Akira Nandan and daughter Aadya.

Pawan Kalyan is now married to Russian Anna Lezhneva, who is his third wife. He also congratulated Renu on her engagement.
