Kollywood star Vikram unveiled the first look of his son Dhruv's debut film which has been titled Varma. "YOU'RE GODDAMN RIGHT. #varmathemovie #dirbala #dhruvvikram #E4entertainment," Vikram captioned the poster while sharing it on his Instagram page.

Varma is the official remake of Telugu blockbuster Arjun Reddy. The upcoming Tamil film will be directed by ace-filmmaker Bala, who gave a boost to Vikram's acting career in Tamil cinema with his film Sethu (1999).

The poster and title were supposed to be released on Thursday. However, Vikram postponed the announcement following the sudden demise of cameraman Priyan, who was also part of Vikram's upcoming cop film Saamy Square.

Earlier Vikram had revealed that his son will enter the film industry as he was very much interested in showbiz but he was not sure in what capacity. Even speculations were rife that big directors such as Shankar and Bharathiraja were planning to cast Dhruv in their movies.

Last year, Dhruv had also made a short film that deals with the subject of child abuse within the family. The film was called ‘Goodnight Charlie’. Earlier reports also claimed that Dhruv gave inputs to Vikram, while the latter was developing mannerisms for his most-appreciated character ‘Love’ in Iru Mugan. The star kid, indeed, has many talents.

The remake of Arjun Reddy will indeed be the star kid's dream debut. The Telugu film that released earlier this year deals with a Devdas-esque theme. The film, which was written and directed by Sandeep Vanga, achieved a cult status among the film lovers for its raw and immersive storytelling. It gave a big break to its lead actors Vijay Deverakonda and Shalini Pandey. While Dhruv will reprise Vijay's role in Tamil remake, the filmmakers are yet to announce their choice for the female lead.
