Low Sodium Tomato Basil Soup: Got grilled cheese on the menu? Swap out your usual soup, which is typically packed with sodium, for a homemade tomato and potassium-salt blend, courtesy of the nutritional brand Salt for Life. Your kids won't even notice the difference.Ingredients 1 tbsp. olive oil1 small onion, chopped ( about ½ cup)1 clove garlic, finely chopped2 tsp. granulated sugar1 tsp. Salt for Life Sea Salt + Potassium Blend1/4 tsp. ground black pepper1 can (28 oz.) tomato puree, no salt added1 ½ cups chicken stock, unsalted5 basil leaves, chopped1 tbsp. butter, unsaltedDirectionsHeat olive oil in medium saucepan over medium-high heat. Add onion, cook about 2 to 3 minutes until softened. Stir in garlic, sugar, Salt for Life, and pepper. Cook 3 minutes or until onions are translucent. Add tomato puree and chicken stock. Cook about 5 minutes. Add basil and butter. Stir until butter has melted. Simmer 10 minutes to develop flavor.
