AAP suspends Kapil Mishra from party’s primary membership

New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) political affairs committee on Monday suspended Kapil Mishra from the party’s primary membership, amid corruption allegations he levelled against Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal.

The crisis within the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) deepened on Monday after Kapil Mishra, the sacked minister in the Arvind Kejriwal government, went submitted “evidence” against the chief minister at the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) headquarters in the Rs400 crore water tanker scam.

A senior ACB official, on condition of anonymity, stated the department would look into the allegations made by Mishra, while no allegation or charge could be pinned against any individual without the requisite investigation.

Mishra has alleged that he is eyewitness to health and public works department minister Satyendar Jain handing over Rs2 crore to Kejriwal.

Mishra became the fourth AAP minister to be sacked after Jitendra Singh Tomar, Asim Ahmed Khan and Sandeep Kumar, since the AAP stormed to power in 2015.
