Mumbai: N.S. Rajan, former Tata Group human resources (HR) head, who resigned from the leading conglomerate after the rift between Ratan Tata and Cyrus Mistry, is joining the IDFC Group as group HR head, according to two people close to the development, who did not want to be named.

Rajan will replace Animesh Kumar, who quit a couple of months ago as the HR head of IDFC Group, said the first person.

In October last year, Rajan had stepped down as the chief of human resources of Tata Group. In the same month, Rajan also resigned as the non-executive director of its hospitality arm Indian Hotels Co. Ltd.

An e-mail sent to IDFC spokesperson did not elicit any response, while Rajan could not be reached immediately.

Rajan, who joined the Tata Group in May 2013, was one of the members of the group executive council (GEC) set up by ousted Tata Sons’s chairman Cyrus Mistry. In October, GEC got disbanded when the ouster of Cyrus Mistry was announced by the Tata Sons board.

Besides Rajan, business development and public affairs head Madhu Kannan and strategy executive Nirmalya Kumar were members of the council disbanded after Tata dismissed Mistry

Rajan was partner and global leader, people and organisation, EY, from 2001-2013. He has also worked with Ranbaxy, Asian Paints, BlowPlast, ABC Consultants and Asia Online.
