9 smartphones launched in India this week


1) Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge

Samsung has announced the launch of its much-awaited flagship Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge smartphones in India, Rs 49,900 onwards.

The Galaxy S6 will come in three variants - 32GB for Rs 49,900, 64GB for Rs 55,900 and 128GB for Rs 60,900. The Galaxy S6 Edge, that comes with a dual-curved display, on the other hand, carries a price tag of Rs 58,900 for the 32GB model. The 64GB and 128GB variants of the Galaxy S6 Edge are priced at Rs 64,900 and Rs 70,900, respectively.

The phones are available for pre-booking starting March 23 and will go on sale from April 10.

2) Xiaomi Redmi 2

Alongside Xiaomi's Mi Pad tablet, the latest Redmi 2 is also available for purchase on Flipkart for a price of Rs 6,999. The company had rolled out these two products in India earlier this month and now you can acquire them under Xiaomi's exclusive partnership with the e-commerce giant.

3) Huawei Honor 4X

Huawei has launched two new smartphones in India - the Honor 6 Plus and Honor 4X. The former is priced at Rs 26,499, while the latter carries a price tag of Rs 10,499.

While the Honor 4X will be available for pre-order starting March 24 (from 4pm), the company is yet to announce the availability details of the Honor 6 Plus for the Indian market. It only says, the phone "will be available soon".

The Honor 6 Plus has an 8 megapixel front as well as rear camera. It has a 5.5-inch (1920x1080 pixels) display , octa-core processor, internal memory of 32GB (expandable up to 128GB), and a 3600mAh battery.

4) Microsoft Nokia 215 Dual SIM

Microsoft Nokia 215 Dual SIM has been launched in India at Rs 2,149. The feature phone offers access to the Internet and a replacement guarantee. The Internet access will include popular web content with Opera Mini Browser, Bing Search, MSN Weather and Twitter as well as Facebook in nine local languages.

The phone can also take photos and share them between devices using SLAM technology.

5) Xolo Q1001

Domestic smartphone maker Xolo has introduced its latest Q1001 smartphone in India for a price of Rs 6,199. The Android smartphone sports a 5-inch FWVGA IPS display with 480X854 pixels resolution. It sports a 1.3GHz quad core Cortex A7 processor and 512MB RAM. The smartphone comes with 4GB internal storage capacity that can be expanded up to 32GB with a microSD card.

6) Lava Iris 414

Lava Mobiles has rolled out its Iris 414 dual-SIM Android smartphone under its affordable handset range in India.

The smartphone features a 4-inch TFT display with a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels. It runs Android 4.4 KitKat OS and is powered by a 1400mAh battery.

The Lava Iris 414 has 512MB RAM and 4GB internal memory which can be expanded up to 32GB via microSD card. The phone runs 1GHz processor and features a 3.2 megapixel rear camera with flash and a VGA front camera.

Connectivity options include 3G, Bluetooth, USB, Wi-Fi, and GPRS. The phone has been priced at Rs 4,049.

7) Celkon - Millennia Q450

Celkon Mobiles today launched its Millennia Q450 smartphone at a price of Rs 4,799.

The Millennia Q450 is a dual SIM model powered by 1.3 GHz quad core processor.

It runs on Android 4.4.2 Kitkat operating system and sports a 4.5-inch FWVGA, IPS display along with 5MP rear camera with LED Flash.

Powered by a 1,800 mAh battery, it comes with 512MB RAM along with 4GB internal memory which isexpandable up to 32GB.

On the connectivity front, it comes with WiFi, Bluetooth A2DP and dual SIM card slots.
