Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi today hit the campaign trail in Uttar Pradesh today. Priyanka shared the stage with her brother and Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi. Two-day days after BJP leader and Union Minister Smriti Irani claimed the Congress leader was not campaigning as she had no answers to people's question in Uttar Pradesh, Priyanka attended her first election rally this year. Rahul hit out at Prime Minister Narendra for promising to waive loans of small farmers if BJP is voted to power. Rahul drew a parallel between Modi's 'achche din' promise with 'Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge' film. "But after 2.5 years of becoming PM, he became Gabbar Singh of 'Sholay", Rahul said.

In a dig to PM Modi's statement that he is the 'adopted' son of Uttar Pradesh, Rahul said, "Modi ji, relations are not just made by saying, but by maintaining them."

In a dig on PM Modi's  Make in India programme, Rahul said, "PM says Make in India, but wherever you see, it is Made in China, Made China. Why? Because PM served only 50 families of the state."

Rahul said that PM Modi had earlier said that Varanasi was his "mother". But he didn't do anything for his "mother", the Congress vice-president said.

"PM Modi snatched away your food park, your jobs, 'Made in Raebareli'. Why? Because he had to take revenge," he added..

Taking a dig at PM's promise to farmers, Rahul said, "Modiji remembers farmers only during elections. He said that farmers loan would be waived if BJP government comes to power in UP. UPA had also waived farmers' loan. Was there Congress government in UP then."

In a press conference on Wednesday, Irani had said she was working for people of Amethi despite losing to Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi in 2014. But, Priyanka has avoided campaign in the district because of the ?unfulfilled? promises, she said. ?Priyanka wants to avoid people?s questions,? PTI quoted the Union minister of textiles as saying. The Congress had responded to Irani?s swipe by saying that Priyanka was overlooking the campaign of the party.
