HMD Global on Tuesday launched a new Nokia smartphone in India. Called the Nokia 6.1 Plus, the device was launched in China as the Nokia X6 in May this year. The smartphone is available in Gloss Midnight Blue, Gloss Black and Gloss White.

Nokia 6.1 Plus will go on sale in India from August 31 via Nokia’s e-store and The smartphone is priced at Rs 15,999.

Nokia 6.1 Plus: Full specifications

The Nokia 6.1 Plus comes with a 5.8-inch 19:9 display with full HD resolution and Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It runs on Android Oreo out-of-the-box and is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 636 processor coupled with 4GB LPPDDR4x RAM. It comes with 64GB built-in storage and supports expandable storage up to 400GB via microSD card.

Nokia 6.1 Plus sports two cameras featuring a 16-megapixel sensor with autofocus, f/2.0 aperture and 1.0um micron, and a 5-megapixel fast focus, f/2.4 aperture and 1.12um micron on the back. It has a 16-megapixel camera with f/2.0 aperture for selfies.

Connectivity options include dual-SIM, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, and USB Type-C support. Nokia 6.1 is powered by a 3060mAh battery.

Nokia 6.1 Plus: Features

Nokia 6.1 Plus supports AI enhancements for facial recognition on both its rear and front cameras. It also supports the “Bothie” feature, which lets you shoot from both the rear and front cameras at the same time. The native camera also lets you livestream to Facebook and YouTube.

Nokia 6.1 is part of Google’s Android One platform, which means users will receive guaranteed two years of Android ‘letter’ upgrades and three years of monthly security updates.
