<p>The Indian Army chief has announced that they are all set to allow women in combat positions. General Bipin Rawat said they are moving fast on allowing women in combat role, which is currently an exclusive domain of men. As per him, women will first be allowed in military police.</p><p>As of now, roughly a dozen countries have opened "close combat roles" to women. A 2010 British Ministry of Defense study describes “close combat roles” as those which include "engaging an enemy on the ground ... while being exposed to hostile fire and a high probability of physical contact with the hostile forces personnel".
