Chennai Super Kings opener Ruturaj Gaikwad returned home to a traditional welcome from his mother after a successful Indian Premier League campaign in the United Arab Emirates.

Gaikwad, 24, became the youngest player to win the Orange cap, finishing the season with 635 runs. Du Plessis finished two runs short of Gaikwad after being dismissed on 86 off 59 balls in the final against the Kolkata Knight Riders on Friday.

Gaikwad got a traditional welcome home from his mother after returning home from Dubai.

"Mersal Arasan Home," CSK posted on twitter

Gaikwad scored 635 runs in IPL 2021 at an average of 45.35 with 7 fifties and a hundred as CSk won their fourth IPL title after beating Kolkata Knight Riders by 27 runs in the IPL 2021 Final.

"It is top of the moon feeling to win the orange cap and win the IPL. It is very very satisfying to win the IPL. It feels great. We didn't have a great season," Ruturaj Gaikwad said in the post-final presentation ceremony.

"Coming here, everyone believed and we are here. When you are performing well, you are confident on your lesser risk shots. You need to make sure you are there till the end," Gaikwad added.
