The 28-year-old took his tally in successful run chases to 4001 runs with an average of 100.02. The Delhi lad is the only player to achieve an average of 100 while chasing successfully in ODIs and the third batsman in world cricket after cricket legends Sachin Tendulkar (5490, average 55.45) and Ricky Ponting (4186, average 57.34) to reach the landmark.

Kohli had recently surpassed Tendulkar's record with his 18th hundred in a run chase in the fifth ODI against West Indies in Jamaica in July. While The Little Master took 232 innings to score 17 hundreds, Kohli has taken just 102 innings to score 18 ODI tons while batting second.
