That agreement was a two-year loan with the option for a permanent deal to be struck.

Coman has now seen that clause triggered and will remain at the Allianz Arena for the foreseeable future.

A talent considered to be among the most exciting in Europe has made 58 appearances for Bayern so far, netting eight goals.

He has also earned senior international recognition and formed part of Didier Deschamps' squad at Euro 2016.

Bayern chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said of Coman's capture: "He is a player with huge potential. We're convinced that he will be of great help to us in the coming years."
