East Bengal continue to make inroads into the transfer market and have made a statement by resigning striker Willis Plaza for the upcoming domestic season.

The Trinidadian striker was an integral part of the Red and Golds set up in the 2016-17 domestic season, scoring nine goals in 14 league appearances as East Bengal finished third.

The 29-year-old is set to boost the East Bengal strike force ahead of the Calcutta Football League (CFL), which East Bengal will be looking to defend.

The Red and Golds, who will be coached by Khalid Jamil who led Aizawl FC to the I-League title last season, have been proactive in the transfer market this time and have already signed several prominent names.

Mahmoud Al Amna, one of the mainstays in Aizawl midfield last season, Lalramchullova, Brandon Vanlalremdika were all brought from Aizawl FC as they finally look to land the elusive I-League title.

The fans will be hoping Plaza can continue his goalscoring exploits in the coming season as well.
