You may not recognise the name Takefusa Kubo, but you're bound to hear it again.

Ronaldo IS NOT on 400 Real Madrid goals

Aged just 15, the attacking midfielder plays for FC Tokyo, and has already made his senior debut!

Formerly of Barcelona - Kubo spent four years at the club, having joined at the age of eight - the diminutive wonderkid became the second youngest player ever, behind Takayuki Morimoto, to feature in senior competition in Japan, as he came on as a substitute in the Levain Cup game against Consadole Sapporo.

The Levain Cup - the equivalent of England's EFL Cup - encounter saw FC Tokyo run out 1-0 winners, and Kubo was delighted to get on the pitch.

"Playing today reminded me just how competitive the J. League is,” Kubo said. “Finally, I’ve taken my first step. Compared to J3, they play a lot more one-touch here.

“When I arrived at the stadium, I could hear so many of the fans and was a little bit nervous, but once I was on the pitch I couldn’t afford to be nervous. I had to go out and do it.

“Once I knew I was in the squad, I was prepared to go whenever called upon. I was kind of worried I might get distracted by all the cheering, but it felt good.”

One hopes Barcelona included a buy-back clause...
